Southern Cross
Agricultural
Developments has embarked
upon a major, multi
billion dollar
agricultural
investment in
Northern China. The
first of the
Southern Cross
Agricultural
Developments Projects in
China, the Liaoning
Agri-energy Project, will
be based in Xingcheng, on the
Bay of Bohai.
Xingcheng is about
400km North East of
Beijing, and around
50km from Jinzhou
Airport. The
Liaoning Agri-energy
Project represents
an investment of
US$300m, and will
create an integrated
dairy farm with:
13,000
hectare farm to
provide all animal
feed,
65,000
heifer raising
facility,
Dairy
herd of 40,000
Holstein cattle,
30,000
milking cows,
Processing
plant, processing
1,000 tonnes of milk
per day into:
Animal
waste treatment
facilities,
Head
office and
ancilliary
facilities,
providing Machinery
Workshop, Staff
Housing and Canteen,
Medical Facilities
and Utilities
(Power, Heat, Water,
Telecommunications).
Initially the
project will employ
150 Expatriates from
Australia, United
States of America,
Canada and Denmark
and 2500 Chinese.
